"Fake Castles is about feeling alone even though you’re in a crowd, and trying to break through the barriers we all build in our minds. I wanted to reflect those ideas in the video, which is why the director (Victor Oly) and myself decided to use masks, as well as the symbol of the all seeing eye. We wanted to build on the idea that you can hide from everybody else, but you can’t hide from who you are. Eventually we need to break free and become who we are meant to be."

"What do you want listeners to take away from The Projektor?

I think we all get very consumed in what we’re doing in our own bubble that we forget we live in a world full of people with totally different views than ourselves, and this leads us all to clump together with like-minded people and bring very little change. I hope that listeners connect with the stories in these songs and take the time to try thinking about what it’s like through another’s eyes and empathize with what they might be going through."

March 3 – Ottawa, ON – The 27 Club

February 16, 2018 - Shred Kelly releases their most ambitious project to date, with their fourth album, Archipelago

"Archipelago, is a cohesive collection of dreamy, yet explosively exciting songs dipped in themes of relationships and the world in the modern age,” says Sage McBride. “The song Don’t Ever Look Back explores the end of a relationship and the inability to see the other perspective when you're in the middle of it. The story for the video is a spin on our modern day where instead of heterosexual relationships being the norm, they are the outliers.”

Emma will call at 5:50 pm

Emma Cook is playing in Ottawa on March 9th at the NAC. She just released her new album, Living Proof, on February 2nd.

“Living Proof explores what it means to be human, and particularly how we deal with loss, both of the selves we thought we knew and of those we love,” Emma explains. “This album was born out of a very challenging time in my life, after a bad head injury left me in a dark place, not knowing if or when I would recover. I wrote the whole album on piano, so it’s very different from my previous music, and definitely has more of a pop sensibility. Ultimately, Living Proof is an album of hope, and the drive we have to survive. I think the songs are accessible to everyone, as the themes really touch on what it means to be human.”
