Interviews with Lloyd Spiegel, Tic, Lucas Haneman, and Slo' Tom

Today we check out some bluesy acts and talk about Barnstorm. First up we welcomed Lloyd Spiegel to the studio. Lloyd is from Australia and he'd just arrived on Wednesday night so he felt pretty jet lagged - but you couldn't tell from the conversation and his live playing and singing in the studio. We played a track from his excellent album This Time Tomorrow and then chatted about the challenges of covering so much ground while touring, being far away from his family and son and how he fits into contemporary blues. He then played a piece live in the studio for us. Lloyd is playing a number of shows around Ontario and across the region. Most notably he will be in Orleans at the Occo Kitchen on Sept. 1st, in Carp at the Cheshire Cat on Sept. 2nd, in Cantley Quebec at La Grange de la Gatineau on September 8th and then in Renfrew at Batstone's Northern Ramble on Sept. 10th. The group was selected by Robert Cray's management to open for Robert Cray at the Algonquin College Theatre on Friday, August 25th. Lucas talks about what a blast it will be to open for Cray and how the band prepares a special set for such gigs. We talk about the fun of opening for Bryan Adams when Tom was with Furnaceface and about how he's been a bit busier this summer with some gigs.
