Ottawa Jazz Festival Special - interviews with Petr Cancura and Esmerine

Today we focus on Ottawa's Jazz Festival. We talk to the Ottawa Jazz Festival's Artistic Director Petr Cancura about the opening weekend of the Festival and he gives us some highlights to check out. http://ottawajazzfestival.com/ Next up we talk to Becky Foon who plays cello with Esmerine. The Montreal group is at the Jazz Festival next Thursday (June 30) at 7:30. Becky is also playing with Colin Stetson on Monday, June 26 as he reinterprets Gorecki's 3rd Symphony. We talk to Becky about how Esmerine creates a set list based on the venue and event the group will be playing, her cello playing, and what to expect from the Gorecki performance. http://www.esmerine.com/ Then we get really outside with five minutes of music from Tatsuya Nakatani. He will be performing a solo percussion show on Saturday night (June 25) at Black Squirrel Books.
