Interviews with Eugene Haslam of Zaphod Beeblebrox and David Myles

Eugene Haslam has been a fixture on the Ottawa music scene for over 30 years. From his days at the Underground to Party Central to the legendary Zaphod Beeblebrox clubs (there have been 3 of them!) to the ressurection of Barrymores Eugene has done it all. He has helped to bring legendary shows to Ottawa and promoted the first local appearances by many amazing artists. He is signing off from ownership and management of Zaphod Beeblebrox on York Street as of the end of January. He is quick to point out that the club will carry on after his departure and he share a lot of interesting ideas about his history here in Ottawa over 45 minutes of the show. And he plays some songs by artists he helped bring to Ottawa. David Myles is in town tomorrow night (Friday, December 18th) for a Christmas concert at the National Arts Centre with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. The leader of Hot Toddy talks about the challenges of recording renditions of Christmas classics and writing and recording original Christmas songs - songs that as a songwriter you hope will ring true for listeners and hold up there with the classics. Get out and see some live music this week.
