Today we talk to Kalle Mattson who has been living and recording in Ottawa for some time but he's originally from Sault Ste. Marie. We talk about the big themes explored on his gorgeous album Some Day the Moon Will Be Gold and his love of trumpets!! He will be playing solo at the House of Targ on Friday (April 24),and with a band as part of the NAC's Ontario Scene at the Bronson Centre with the Sadies and the Wooden Sky on Friday, May 8th. For almost 20 years the band has cranked out perfect examples of meat'n'potatoes rock'n'roll at its best. The band is always electrifying on stage and the albums capture a lot of that great energy. He talks about various expectations of him and the band and how he continues to make great rock year after year.
