The following two pieces of Liszt are recently discovered unpublished works of Liszt, the first from 1845, the second from 1851. The first is a brilliant grand piece on Spanish themes in 3 movements. The second is the first version of a piece later to be published as Scherzo and March. This first version is introduced by the "Wild Hunt", which would later be used as the 8th Transcendental Edute, here it is a frenetic introduction to another ferocious, improvisatory piece of Liszt. Both first published in 2009, these are the first recordings by Leslie Howard.
