Ethiopian pianist Girma Yifrashewa composing music for the piano based on his love of both Ethiopian music and western classical tradition.

Ethiopian pianist Girma Yifrashewa learned to the play the Kirar--the iconic Ethiopian lyre--as a child, but fell in love with the piano as a teenager. He studied at the Yared school of music in Addis before studying in Bulgaria and Italy and further studies in Germany. He performs both standard classical repertoire and his own compositions which joins together Ethiopian and western classical traditions.
