Today we will enjoy the great master Vishwa Mohan Bhatt in a live recording of Rag Poorvi, with Alap-Jhod-Jalla and several compositions. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt performs on his own creation, the Mohan Veena, a modified guitar with 20 strings which allows him to play the full range of shrutis and meend in Hindustani music. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt will be performing in Ottawa on May 14th in a Jugalbandi with Carnatic flautist Shashank Subramanyam, they will be joined by Hindustani and Carnatic percussionists Subhen Chatterjee and Parapalli Phalgun. This should be a wonderful concert, not to be missed!
