"Andalusia of Love". A wonderful new album from Lebanese composer, oud player and singer Marcel Khalife, singing of love, pain, and loss in a poem by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.

Today's show features the new album "Andalusia of Love" from Lebanese oud master, singer, and composer Marcel Khalife with his Al Mayadine quartet comprised of himself and sons Rami and Bachar on piano and percussion with Jilbert Yamine Kanoun. "Andalusia of Love" is a suite which sets the poem "Homing Pigeons" by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, a poem of love, pain, and loss. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! We also hear the first of the three stunning live solo improvisation concert recordings from the early to mid-90's by Keith Jarrett. These three albums (Paris, Vienna, La Scala) showed a strong classical influence on his improvisation at the time as he was also heavily involved in studying and recording the keyboard music of Bach and Shostakovich int he late 80's/early 90's.
