Persian classical with Parissa, Said Farajpoori, Hossein Behroozinia; Hindusthani classical vocal from Lahore with Ustad Bary Fateh Ali Khan

Today we start with a gorgeous piece of Persian classical music. The beautiful singer Parissa is joined by the Hamnavazan Ensemble, comprised of Hossein Behroozinia, Said Farajpoori, Saina Khaledi, and Hamin Honari, and performing a suite in Isfahan composed by Said Farajpoori with texts from Jalal ad-Din Rumi. This was recorded in Vancouver at the Nava Art Centre, and I have just discovered that Hossein Behroozinia, one of the greatest classical instrumentalists of his generation, now lives and teaches in Vancouver!
