Christina Petrowska Quilico and the Brazilian tangos of Ernesto Nazareth
Ernesto Nazareth (1863-1934) was born in Rio de Janeiro, and with a mostly informal music education, a great love of Chopin's music, he wrote popular piano music largely based on Brazilian forms though he specifically composed 88 tangos since the Argentinian form was very popular in Brazil at the time.
The enormously multitalented Christina Petrowska Quilico recorded 24 of these tangos alongside studying the dance. She joins me today to discuss her music and dance.

Wonderful Southam piece! More music by Constantine Caravassilis? Please post a link about this. His Visions are just amazing and Christina's playing is so great. What other music by Caravassilis is she playing?
