Hi there. About The Wreck of the Edmund Fitz... I realised that it happened in 1975, but not that Gordon Lightfoot had that GRAND song out as soon as in '76! It made the historic sinking sound like it had happened long before.

A factoid I just picked up in the wiki about the Fitz and Lightfoot: "In commemoration of Lightfoot's writing of the lyrics to the ballad, the Great Lakes Maritime Academy now follows the commemoration bell count of: "29 for the lives lost that day back in 1975 on Lake Superior, once for all lives lost at sea, and once for singer Gordon Lightfoot, who wrote the ballad of the ship’s sinking"."

Another tidbit shows how fast Lightfoot wrote it: "The song was recorded in December 1975 at Eastern Sound,[13] a recording studio composed of two Victorian houses at 48 Yorkville Avenue... in (...) downtown Toronto. (...) Pee Wee Charles and Terry Clements came up with "the haunting guitar and steel riffs" on a "second take" during the evening session.[15] " Really.

Bummer I missed the entire show today, Ryan. Going down to 5 below zero tonight. I had to harvest and clean all the remaining garden; carrots, green onions cauliflower etc for the foodbank with those temperatures and high winds here. Nasty work.......in the house now but trouble typing hands are still frozen. On demand..........
