It would involve Christina (forget last name), a longtime fan and, more importantly, someone who's been involved in putting on shows at Motel Chelsea. That's all I know. Oh, except it's apparently imminent.

This release moved me so deeply that it felt like my heart was being ripped out. Truly captures the mood of the world right now. Hi Ryan , Is the station aware that they are transmitting a constant frequency tone along with broadcast content ? I've heard this on a number of radios and it's extremely annoying. Given funding drive is around the corner and you want people tuning in , I thought I'd get this on the radar to the tech guys responsible for transmission quality. In the meantime I will get my spectrum analyzer out try to measure the harmonic ( it sounds to me in around 1 kHz )

EG: I hear it too, I suspect it's temporary: they're replacing the tower at Camp Fortune (CBC, and CKCU, among others). I think it won't be allowed to persist, but that it's probably here for now.

Hi Ed. Yes, we are aware. We share a broadcasting tower with CBC (and others) at Camp Fortune and CBC is doing major work. That is why we are frequently losing our over-the-air signal (internet stream is unaffected) and is responsible for that annoying hiss you hear. Apologies for the annoyance!

Thanks for confirming Benoit. I thought I was developing tinnitus for a while. I've heard this tone now for well over a week and frankly cannot listen on air anymore. Sending a constant tone consumes power so I'm sure broadcast range is affected as well.

Thanks for the update Ryan. Dropouts I can live with and hiss to a certain degree, but the constant tone is a dealbreaker. I'll do some measurements and send an email to someone at the station.
