Incidentally, the Kaïa Kater show at Red Bird on Sunday was excellent! The players, her voice, the stagecraft, etc. Highly recommended! Note: I can be critical at times, but with her (plus stand-up bass player and sax/bass clarinet), I can't think of a single improvement. Firing on all cylinders.

I have to take issue with the statement that you play "a little bit of this,and à little bit of that". I see it more as "singer/songwriter" ,not as folk music, but more like "auteur'" cinema. I find it is a running theme in your choice and appreciation, spread out amongst many styles. I was happy to see, and hear, Mary Gauthier. I worked on the first releases in Canada, with pride, way back... And since I'm name dropping: : Ryan has best show on CKCU :)! P.S. what happened to "The Rachel's Episode "???

Yes. I know. I AM in the country. But its the neighbour just poppin up to saw on MY land. I live In front of Khumeia Land. I hate them too. With a passion. I am thinking of chainsawing them. There's definitely going to be a whole bloody symphony .

Nah, not illegal, he's cleaning up the 50foot white birch that fell during the storm.2 weeks ago... because I'm.not doin it...fast enough. Thinks he's helping me out... but its actually quite emasculated! On a totally different plane - and m showing my age here - im à HUGE fan of TIM Buckley, the father. And I was à big fan of Cocteau Twins, who I saw live opening up for Nick Cave at the Metropolis in Montreal

What I remember most about that show is Elizabeth Fraser saying : "Phoque!", cause she couldnt hit the high notes. And, also, them needing to have like 3-4 guitarists/keyboardists to simulate what Robin Guthrie could do overdubbing in studio! So lets end on a "high" note, guys: "Phoque le voisin!" :) cheers all!
