Also, you were wondering about my reaction to the Postdata-Close Talker show. So here. It's a little boring though. The opener, Paul of Postdata, showed really fast what he’s made of. Working solo with some recorded accompaniment, he really impressed me with the music he produces. And with his voice. Not boring in the least – I’m just saying that because a solo act is often musically sparse –, he kept the audience’s attention throughout; it’s easy to see how his band Wintersleep sounds so good. As for the trio Close Talker, it was a bit of a surprise; I’d only heard them recorded before. Not that they not melodic, but I was struck by just how rhythmic they are: the drummer, of course, but also the main singer (more often playing the bass part of his double neck guitar); and that remarkable lead guitar and keyboards player, BIG rhythm all the time, even though he’s also really good at sliding and bending notes. A really fine show, would definitely do it over!

Ryan (I'm back unexpectedly), NO! I have the money, and an older little house, so I've had a pro plumber deal with several little problems. I am happy to pay the price, having been able to observe the repeated screwups Steve's had to deal with -- old parts, nasty PVC-to-steel connection, uncooperative pipes, etc. He really knows his stuff, and is 'real, to talk with. Refreshing! Ciao now!
