No. In any case, Paul Symes was never the owner, but rather the lessee of the Sheep, and (of course) the show promoter (and 'inventor' of shows in that kind of small venue in the Ottawa area). Within the COVID pandemic, Paul tried to reopen when it looked like measures would be softened, but then, twice I think, they went back. No shows since the first postponement-cancellation in January '19. Since, it's only been open Friday evenings and Saturdays, I think. (I now hit Kaffe 1870.) So: COVID killed the Black Sheep, it seems, and Paul's done I suppose. It's perhaps no surprise that the Wakefield area family that owns it might want to sell it. But I hadn't heard, not that that means anything really. Thanks for the info.

I've had the attitude, for a while now, that the Sheep died in early '19; it just took a long time to be confirmed. So it goes.

Springsteen's a rarity. Undeniably rock and roll since the get-go, he's always been always a straight arrow, never (to my knowledge) has ever pulled a stoopid, let alone a mean thing; and his writings have always been top level (in r'n'r anyway), plus his sound's always worked. Like a real Elvis before 1959, like a true Elvis that stayed a decent guy and a valid artist. Not many of those around...
