HOST OF: Thursday Special Blend, Cap City Blues

YEAR STARTED: 2016

Jeff's first taste of "community radio" started in Highschool at North Dundas DHS, when he signed on to be one of the lunchroom DJ's broadcasting over the chewing, slurping and occasional scuffle.  The studio was a modified janitorial closet with a robust suitcase-style single turntable. No mic. No headphones. Just non-stop (except when I had to change the record) Rock n Roll from what I had acquired in vinyl.

Fast forward to University days, and Jeff scored an afternoon drive show on CJSR UofT Scarborough Radio. His show was called "Chain Lightning" and included the Steely Dan track of that name as the intro music. Some of Jeff's lifelong friends came from CJSR, and it was a blast hosting that show for 3 years. My biggest claim to fame was an interview I got to have with Toronto post-punk band Blue Peter. Unfortunately, CJSR did not survive the impact of big radio in Toronto, and had to shut down for lack of funding.

Jeff brought that theme song to CKCUFM after having started volunteering during Funding Drive 2016 after having been invited onto a CKCU program that was hosted by Tonya Price.  Six months later, after pitching a few ideas to Program Director. Dave Aardvark, Jeff was given a one hour program that he called "Just Cause" focusing on local charity and community groups. Ironically, that show was scheduled right before the program he now hosts today. Thursday Special Blend.

I want to thank everyone who has supported the various programs that I have had the privelege to host since joining The Mighty 93.1.  I am keenly aware of how important the support we receive from you, the loyal listeners of this station, and I will do my best to bring you a quality show as long as my voice and energy, and your ears, allow.  My 10th Anniversary will be some time in March, 2026.
