There are only two qualifying slams left in the season! Things are really heating up in the race to represent Ottawa and Capital Slam at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word... which just happens to be held right here in Ottawa
We are pleased to welcome Allesandra Naccarato from Montreal to our stage. Allesandra is a spoken word poet and community organizer who has travelled from Isla del Sol to Timbuktu in search of metaphor. Her work occupies the space between art and activism, where performance is used as a means to connect hearts, codify experience, and create change. She is the coordinator of Montreal's Throw Poetry Collective, the co-chair of Spoken Word Canada and a member of Throw's 2009 slam team who took home bronze at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.
