Lyle Dillabough and the Ottawa Valley Review will perform a "Classic Country Show" at the Carleton Heritage Inn in Carleton Place on Saturday March 13th.
Dillabough will be joined on stage by veteran local musicians Tom Gardiner and Mac Knowles along with several special guests including Darlene Thibault.
A "Hank Williams Sr. Tribute" was originally planned for this night but Dillabough (who is still recovering from a recent illness) decided that performing the "Tribute Show" might be too much of an undertaking for him at this time.
"We still want to have a show: you can't quit; but this way the wealth gets spread around a bit more and that will certainly help" Dillabough said.
Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to the Lanark County Food Bank. The organization is currently being stressed by high demand from those feeling the effects of the recent economic down turn.
"I believe we help ourselves most when we try to help others" Dillabough stated.
Tom Gardiner has been performing music in the Ottawa Valley for more then half a century. He has appeared with several bands over the years but is likely best known as being a member of the legendary Ottawa Valley Country dance band known as The Ramblers. The group used to open for the CFRA Happy Wanderers weekly radio show which was broadcast from the Carleton Place Town Hall Auditorium in the 1950's.
Mac Knowles is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed with groups right across this country and has earned a North American wide reputation for restoring instruments and constructing original steel guitars.
The show will take place in the Heritage Hall section of the Carleton Heritage Inn. A dance floor will be set up for those who wish to dance and all are invited to come and share in a traditional "Ottawa Valley style Saturday night" once referred to as a "doo" or a "tyme."
Admission is ten dollars at the door and showtime will be 8pm
