Born in San Francisco and now based in Belgium, Laura Cortese is a singer, songwriter and fiddle player who has played the Newport Folk Festival with Pete Seeger, performed on the Carnegie Hall stage with Band of Horses, toured with Uncle Earl, and co-founded the Boston Celtic Music Festival. She has performed and taught music in India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Estonia, Greece, Ukraine, Montenegro and Belgium. She performs and records with The Dance Cards, and has released seven albums under her own name.
