"No Other Road", is a reflective master class in facing your dark side, letting go of expectations and embracing personal growth. This first full-length record from The Artichoke Hearts is a significant leap both thematically and stylistically from their last EP (Conquer then Divide - 2016). The Ottawa-based trio, featuring singer-songwriter-guitarist Caitlin Dolan, pianist Kim Jackson and violinist Jessie Lyon, have joined forces with producer/recording engineer Dean Watson (Buckingham Palace Audio), and taken their folky sound to the next-level through the addition of accordion, synth, drums and bass. The result is a modern and authentic mid-life epic told through a fusion of enchanting melodies, haunting harmonies and classically-driven solos that will leave you wanting more than the 7 featured tracks. The Artichoke Hearts have had the pleasure of playing Ottawa festivals such as the Jazzfest, Bluesfest, Marvest and Junofest, and are excited to share their new record at this special album release show at the NAC Fourth Stage.

No Other Road est un cours magistral de réflexion sur la façon d'affronter son côté sombre, de se défaire de ses attentes et d'embrasser le développement personnel. Ce premier disque complet de The Artichoke Hearts constitue un bond significatif, tant sur le plan thématique que stylistique, par rapport à leur dernier EP (Conquer then Divide - 2016). Le trio d'Ottawa, composé de l'auteure-compositrice-interprète Caitlin Dolan, de la pianiste Kim Jackson et de la violoniste Jessie Lyon, a uni ses forces à celles du producteur et ingénieur du son Dean Watson (Buckingham Palace Audio), et a porté son côté folk à un niveau supérieur grâce à l'ajout d'un accordéon, d'un synthétiseur, d'une batterie et d'une basse. Le résultat est une épopée moderne et authentique de la quarantaine racontée à travers un fusion de mélodies envoûtantes, d'harmonies obsédantes et de solos classiques qui vous laisseront sur votre faim au-delà des 7 titres présentés.
