Knock on Wood is an eclectic Ottawa-based trio featuring Jack Pyl (flute, percussion, bass), Kevin Ecker (guitar, vocals) and Lilli (vocals). They play what might be called Gypsy Worldbeat music, drawing on a wide array of styles and sources, and engaging audiences to take an active and vocal part in Caribbean party songs like"Iko Iko" and"Coconut," satirical/political songs like "The Lunatics"and "There Is A War," romantic ballads like "Toi Jamais" and "Dance Me" as well as covers of more familiar artists like Tom Waits, Van Morrison and Leonard Cohen.
The Log Drive Café is a traditional music concert series, held (almost always) on the last Friday evening of each month from September through to May. We feature local and visiting folk singers and musicians in a coffee-house setting, in which the audience is welcome and encouraged to sing along.
The Gallery at Ecclesiax has some parking spaces and is wheelchair accessible.
