Pressed, 750 Gladstone Ave.

9:00 - Chime of Wrens
Chime of Wrens is Tom Thompson's solo instrumental project which takes the pedal steel guitar out of its traditional context. His live experiments involve layering pedal steel parts on top of each other in order to create an orchestra of sound that can be hypnotic and serene, or eery and menacing depending on his frame of mind.

He is currently working on a full length recording at Jim Bryson's Fixed Hinge Studio, and is expanding the palette with the addition of baritone guitars and rotating speakers. The result is a massive yet delicate sound that envelopes listeners within it and allows them the space to create their own narrative.

10:00 - Chautauqua
Scrappy instrumentalists generating sonically mindbending modness while channeling dusty explorations of experimental ambience and white noise. Chautauqua is gearing up to record their debut with Juno nominee Topon Das at his apt2 recording studio in the fall.

Album release November 2018.
