Originally from Senegal, Elage arrived in Canada with his family in 1986. As a descendant of the great familty of griots, he started making music at 8 years old, playing traditional Senegalese percussion. In 1999 he met the Diouf brothers then members of the well-known Québec group Les Colocs. Together they played at many events, incluiding the Nuits d'Afrique Festival in Montreal. From 2002 to 2009 Élage was on tour nationally and internationally with Mighty POPO as well as appearing on the 2010 Juno Awards show in Toronto.

In 2010 Elage released his first solo album "Askane" in collaboration with Abdou Sy. For the past ten years, Elage has been giving shows in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, including the Ottawa Folk Festival, Canada Day and the city of Gatineau's Été show. He has collaborated with a number of renowned artists such as Lynn Milles, Jim Bryson, Lucie Idlout, Sarah Hellman as well as Souljazz Orchestra.

In 2014, Elage released his second album titled "Diame" meaning peace. In 2015, the album was nominated at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in the category best world music album by a solo artist.
