The Ottawa Singer-Songwriter camp is a fun, friendly, and intensive five-day workshop geared to singer-songwriters age 14 to 114. The camp takes place at Alcorn Music Studios, in Ottawa, Canada from July 9-13, 2018.

Join us this summer!

Hone your music and lyric writing, singing, and stage skills, including microphone technique, all with expert advice. Give voice to the songs that are already inside of you. Enjoy a stress-free environment, with like-minded creative spirits. Get live radio experience on CKCU, Carleton University’s radio station!

Our experienced instructors enjoy working with all levels and will help you identify and draw upon your strengths. Whether you are working on your first song or you are a pre-professional singer-songwriter, come and develop your artistic self-expression in a distraction-free space with others just like you! OSSC offers supportive focus to help you achieve your performance and songwriting goals.

You will be guided through collective and individual creative processes, including finding your muse, lively brainstorming of ideas, pulling a song together, and singing it effectively.
Enjoy daily opportunities to perform and receive valuable feedback on your singing, lyric and music writing, and stage presence.

At the end of the week you will have:
• A collectively created song
• A new song of your own
• A chance to perform for friends and family at the end of the week
• A video file of your own performance, for learning, sharing or demo
• New ideas and skills in songwriting and singing
• Better on-stage comfort and presence
• A fun radio experience!

We supply: music paper, music folder, overnight instrument lock up, piano, inspiration, and creative space.

What to bring: your instrument(s) other than piano, your lunch (or signed permission to leave the premises and purchase lunch nearby), snacks, refillable water bottle, towel or yoga mat, notebook, pencil & eraser, your creative mind!

A multi-instrumentalist whose writing style blurs the lines between genres, Elise Letourneau first picked up the pen at the age of 6. Her award-winning compositions have been sung on 3 continents, and she is becoming internationally known as a composer of uncommon lyricism who reveres the inherent rhythm of poetry. Her 5 CDs also reflect her love of literature. Elise’s students learn to colour outside of the lines intelligently. eliseletourneau.com
