Shanks at McCrank’s March Edition: Jon Hynes & Brendan McNally
6:00 PM on Sunday Mar. 11th, 2018
McCrank's Cycle's, 889 Bank St.

Spring is approaching which means bicycle tunes-ups and playing tunes in the bicycle shop. Join yer old pal Patrick Shanks for another session of songs, stories and laughs. The ‘Shanks at McCrank’s’ mini-concert series continues in March. Please note that we have changed the event to Sunday afternoons now and we hope this is still convenient for everyone. As always, this is a family friendly event, kids and dogs are welcome. Free admission. Donations to the Ottawa Food Bank gladly accepted.

We are happy to welcome two of Ottawa’s finest creative talents, singer/songwriter Jon Hynes and author/screenwriter/poet Brendan McNally.

While accompanying countless musicians over the years (Kathleen Edwards, Hey Rosetta, Donovan Woods…) and the creator of the ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not’ series, Jon Hynes has always been methodical in his approach to music and songwriting. His songs range from delicate and spacious to loud and melodic, yet they are always connected . Hynes will be following up his Borealis Prize winning debut album ‘Watchful Creatures’ with his sophomore album on Record Centre Records this spring.

Brendan McNally is a local writer and regular contributor to OttawaTonite.com who has a co-writing credit for Hot Knives: A Slacker Odyssey. He thinks it’s kinda nifty that the recent premiere for his first ever movie was at the same theatre where he saw his first ever movie.
