It’s another edition of Shanks at McCrank’s mini-concert series. Come to the bike shop where your old pal Patrick “Shanker” Shanks will pull out all the “hits” from his vast catalogue of dumb folk-punk novelty songs. It’s a real variety show this time with music and stand-up comedy by two very talented guests.
Multi-instrumentalist Sean Tansey has been a staple in the Ottawa music scene for nearly a decade. Perhaps most well known as lead singer and main songwriter for the award winning indie rock band, Lost to the River, Tansey's lyrics are a narrative of his rural upbringing, societal observations and relationships past and present. His sound is oftentimes described as folk with elements of indie rock, americana, psychedelia, rock and blues.
Jennifer Whiteford is a civil servant and mother of two who discovered last year that she likes to tell jokes to strangers. Since then she’s performed for crowds both large and small around Ottawa, but never at a bicycle shop until now.
Kids and dogs welcome. All proceeds go to the Ottawa Food Bank.
