10:00 AM on Wednesday Apr. 7th, 2010
Galleria, 4th floor University Centre, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive

As part of Research Days at Carleton University, the Faculty of Science is hosting its 11th annual Undergraduate Research Day to recognize and celebrate outstanding thesis work. Dozens of undergraduate students will showcase posters of their research, including:

* A little honey a day keeps the doctor away - A project that looks at whether Sidr honey is an effective natural remedy for disease and infection.
* Tale of a tail - There is evidence consistent with the hypothesis that the North American porcupine evolved from a prehensile-tailed ancestor
* Antioxidant activity of berries grown in Ontario - Studies have shown that diet rich in fruits and vegetables are excellent sources of antioxidants. This study suggests that whole berries have a higher antioxidant capacity than juice due to the presence of pulp and skin in the fruit.
* Better indoor air quality - This research study explores novel chemical sensors for indoor air quality.
