Room 302, Azrielli Theatre, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive

Carleton University’s Pauline Jewett Institute of Women's and Gender Studies is pleased to announce that Flora Terah will deliver the 2010 Florence Bird Lecture.

Her lecture entitled Broken Bodies, Unbroken Spirit will be presented on Wednesday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. in Room 302, Azrielli Theatre.

On September 7, 2007, Ms. Terah, a Kenyan parliamentary candidate in the Meru district of Kenya, was brutally attacked and warned against running for Parliament. As a result of the attack, Terah was hospitalised for weeks and lost her bid for election. In March 2008, her only child was murdered.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
