SlutTalk Ottawa 2020
1:00 PM on Sunday Sep. 6th, 2020
Facebook & Instagram, .

SlutWalk Ottawa is a movement of protest and march which aims to end rape culture and sexual violence. The goal of the march is to move towards eliminating a culture of victim-blaming and sex-shaming in our society, as well as to empower and inspire survivors. It raises awareness that no matter what someone is wearing, it is never the survivor's fault. Considering the safety of the Ottawa Community during the time of Covid-19, we have made the decision to host this event ONLINE and thus we present..... SlutTALK!

Join us on Sunday, September 6th, 2020 at 1pm on our Facebook Event Page as well as Instagram Live! We will be sharing content from our community members (aka you), so please take photos with your best homemade signs and post them using the #SlutTalk2020 hashtag.

We would like to make it clear that SlutWalk/SlutTalk does not tolerate racism, cissexism, heterosexism, ableism, colonialism or any other forms of oppression. We are striving to create an event that centers the experiences of marginalized communities, especially folks impacted by racism, anti-black racism, colonialism, and transmisogyny. This is reflected both in our diverse organizing and volunteer teams, the speakers and topics we're addressing during the event, and in our ongoing efforts to learn how to better create safer and anti-oppressive spaces. We acknowledge that this is a work in progress and we are by no means perfect. We welcome all feedback and criticism. Please contact one of our organizers and we'd be happy to talk more about this.

ACCESSIBILITY:
Please help us support accessibility and inclusion. We will be posting hashtags and making announcements for any triggering content. We will have team members and volunteers monitoring our social media pages to ensure the safety of our participants. Everyone is welcome to participate to their best capacity.
