ARTIST’S STATEMENT
"Women from different cultures use different clothing to protect themselves, to be protected, to show themselves, to be seen, to expose themselves, to isolate themselves, to cover themselves… I propose a journey in homage to women from several places, their footsteps, their paths, their lives. For this, I use four artistic elements: fabric, women’s shoes, translucent curtains and photographs. I invite you to travel the ¨Labyrinth of Life¨ where diverse objects are transformed into artistic symbols of women’s lives. In the heart of the labyrinth is a central sculpture and around it are photographs of women reiterating the question: "why do we cover ourselves?" -RU
