6pm – 10pm | Talk @ 6:30pm | Reception to follow

Join SAW Video at Mill St. Brew Pub in Ottawa at 6:30pm this Friday, October 4th for a discussion and reception for Pansee Atta’s site-specific animated video projection we only liberate ourselves by binding our liberations to those of one another, visible at the base of the Brew Pub along the Ottawa River and presented as part of Knot Projections 2019: Imagining Publics, a special public art project by SAW Video Media Art Centre, with support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The discussion will begin with a brief talk by emerging Egyptian-Canadian artist and Carleton University PhD candidate Pansee Atta about her work, followed by related presentations and comments by educator and writer Alexis Shotwell and community builder and advocate Andi Vicente. A reception will follow, during which you can view Atta’s animation projected onto a rocky facade of Victoria Island, along the Ottawa River.
