A Requiem for Murdered Indigenous Children.

I was moved, but not surprised, by the story that surfaced late last week about the discovery of the remains of up to 215 Indigenous children buried in a mass grave at the site of the Kamloops Indian Residential School in British Columbia that closed in 1978. We play music by Indigenous artists, and other artists singing in solidarity with Indigenous people and other marginalized communities. We also include some songs about children as well as some beautiful, mournful and yet hopeful instrumental compositions this evening. It's a requiem that hopefully raises awareness of Canada's genocide of Indigenous peoples - and clearly this is evidence of genocide as there is no other word to describe the findings near Kamploops! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-aEZFxA4bQ https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/returning-childrens-remains-b-c-1.6045807 Do better.
