No theme or plan for the show... just good music to accompany you during these 2 hours while we are at the controls.
Although there was no theme... I realized part way in that we were playing lots of covers... so hopefully you enjoy Reggae and Lovers Rock when it interprets music from other genres. In this realm, we heard Archie Wonder covering an old classic by Luther Vandross "If Only For One Night". Also a fav of mine and others, Fiona with her version of the Late Great Selena's "I Could Fall In Love", which we then went back to during the detour portion of the show, with Selena singing that great song. Elsewhere in "The Detour", we heard some Smokey Robinson and a sweet duet, Mariah Carey and Brian McKnight with, "Whenever You Call".
Some birthday greetings followed that... Happy Birthday to you today... and then back into Reggae we went for the rest of the show.
Sean Paul and Sasha, Tarrus Riley with another version excursion.. "The Chair" and Sanchez with "Missing You". Of course lots of other music to enjoy.
Which I thank you for taking the time to tune in to the show and/or coming back to check it out On Demand. Either way... hats off to you for keeping us going at CKCU.
I love this station and I love what we get to do for you, our community and our brothers and sisters around the world. It is truly amazing all that this little station can and has done for almost 50 years. Through the hardships and the celebrations.. here for you. Personally, I am beyond ecstatic to have had the opportunity to enjoy music with you over the last.. well lets just say.. little while!! ;-) It is a blessing to me, as I hope the show and what we do is a blessing to you. I love radio.. nothing can replace it. Podcasts, streaming.. nothing. Nothing like that human connection even if we never meet. Our vibes entwine as we enjoy the gift of music together. So thank you for allowing me into your homes, cars, headphones, offices... wherever you listen. I could not say thank you enough and thank you to the one.. the only.... The Mighty.... CKCU 93.1FM
