Tonight's show featured some true legends in the world of Reggae music to start off the show... but I am getting ahead of myself. First tonight (as usual) we started off in an instrumental style with Dean Fraser bringing to us a classic called, "Somewhere". Following that we heard Garnet Challengers, "A Little Prayer To Open Heaven's Gate"... a great positive tune to welcome in this episode of Vintage Love. Now... I can talk about the heavy weights early in the show...
Artists such as John Holt, Phyllis Dillon, Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown and Bob Marley & The Wailers with "Cry To Me" from the album, "Rastaman Vibration" released on the Tuff Gong, Island Records label.
After this, we moved into the multiple Juno Award winning Exco Levi, a couple of tracks from Da'Ville, a wicked chune from Nikesha Lindo and more. During the weather break we heard more heavy weights.. not in Reggae but heavy weights for sure.... Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and a (at least in my opinion) highly underrated song written by Luther... "Second Time Around"... as he croons.. "Try me.. the second time around"... one of my favorites of the many favorites of mine from the vaults of the Late Great Luther Vandross.
We ended off the show some Morgan Heritage, Adele Harley, Rosie Delmah and a succulent tune from Christopher Martin, "Better Than The Stars"... which I dedicate to all of you, my VL Family. Without you....... how could I cope, without doing radio!?!? ;-)
