The first set of music tonight... some gospel for you as we celebrate Easter. Some old Caribbean Gospel songs that may bring back memories of church our parents and/or grandparents singing and playing these tunes. Unfortunately during this set of music - which was a shock to me, a Caribbean lady called and complained about this being a Reggae show and not a Gospel show... which threw me for quite a loop as she was not overly friendly in this complaint. In any event, I think Gospel music is a big part of the Caribbean, West Indian experience growing up and we do "Play With Those Memories Again" on this show so I am hoping she was a newer listener as this show focuses on Reggae music but we do touch many other genres as well. Anyway, for the rest of you, I hope you enjoyed this set of Caribbean Gospel to help celebrate this Easter 2014.
To the lady who called thank you for calling and for your comments, I do appreciate them. I also do believe though that....

Running around town on Thursday night, picking up a few last minute things for the weekend at a local grocery store. I ran into a lady who hadnt heard the show before but said she would listen for the first time on Saturday night. I asked her what she would like to hear and she requested some Bob Marley and The Wailers. So hopefully you were listening and enjoyed the show. This next track goes out to my new Food Basics friend.

Thank you Happy Easter. I appreciate that as much as it may not be accurate. hahahaha :-) But seriously, thank you. This will help to balance the criticism for playing Caribbean Gospel early in the show from a caller. So a criticism and a compliment... I think that math leaves me at - Even Steven! :-) And I am okay with that... thank you.

Always & Forever
'In and Out (of Love)'?!?! Well, once you have a solid friendship, the love will always be there. Even though at times it might not seem so...but it is there!

Grateful
Re: Complaint about Gospel music. I wonder if people realize that because of the Christian Religion, we have two main holidays in the year that everyone looks forward to. (Christmas Day and Good Friday). Most people have these two days off from work to rest, reujuvenate and spend time with their family. We have to be grateful for these little perks in life!!

Music is music
Listening to 15 minutes of gospel is nothing to complain about. The VL show caters to people from all walks of life. We have to be tolerant and respect everyone beliefs. Soul, Rhythm and bluses was born out of Gospel music. Even Elvis Presley loved to sing his Gospel Music.

Music is Music... music is life! I am hoping that the person was not really familiar with the show. I always start off with a conscious track or 2.. sometimes Gospel and sometimes just something positive. I have been doing this for years. With the state of the world today, what is wrong with putting some positive vibes out there? "I dont see nothin' wrong with a little" gospel time!! haha :-) (a little R. Kelly remix) haha. But seriously though... the show has from the very beginning brought back songs that you probably would not hear on regular radio... whether in Reggae, Soul, R&B, Pop, Gospel Reggae etc. It is about vintage, classic, uplifting, love music with Reggae as the foundation. I try to keep all of you happy.. all the listeners to Vintage Love but the truth is, you cant please everyone all the time. So we will continue doing what we do... sending out love vibes all the while at least until collectively you all say.. when. :-) To you who have taken the time to write your thoughts above... I thank you for your continued support.

Some folks are hard to please at times. But keep on playing dem tunes! You always do your best, and you play all our requests, so what more can we ask for?
