Ali McCormick is in the studio to chat and perform. She plays birthday concerts this evening at Irene’s Pub and tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) in Westport. Shelley and Chris talk with American folk legend and environmental activist, Si Kahn, as well as the “trans-Atlantic” folk group known as Arrowsmith Robb – that’s Ian Robb from Ottawa and Jess and Richard Arrowsmith from Sheffield, England. They’re currently recording an album with James Stephens in Chelsea, Quebec. Arrowsmith Robb performs at the Rosemount Hall tomorrow evening (Sunday). Miranda Currie calls in from Yellowknife. She is writing, recording and performing songs in spite of issues related to concussion-related brain injuries. We talk with Sudbury-based multi-instrumentalist and singer, Duncan Cameron — he performs at Abbotsford House on Fri. Jan. 26 as part of the Log Drive Cafe series.
