Malak, Andre Gagne, Steven Palmer, John Allaire (The Town Cryers)

Shelley Ann Morris co-hosts this edition of Canadian Spaces, bringing along "40 minutes of uninterrupted folk" from performers and volunteers she met at the recent Folk Music Ontario conference. Guests in the studio today: * Ottawa Live journalist, photographer and editor Andre Gagne drops by with some local music updates. * Born in Egypt, Malak is an award-winning singer and a recent graduate of Carleton University's "singer-songwriter" degree program. She performs at the Ottawa Life Holiday Party this Thursday. * Steven Palmer (http://www.spmusic.ca) is preparing to record his fifth album. He's the featured artist at "Tunes After Noon" at the Black Irish Pub this Saturday afternoon. Ottawa acquired him from Nanaimo in a trade for Tony Turner! * The Town Cryers are releasing an album called "Stanley's Cup" at Irene's Pub on Fri. Dec. 8. The album was recorded in 1991! John Allaire drops by to tell us all about it...
