The Guest List
Thursday September 7th, 2023 with Joe Reilly
Today we talk to Bry Webb about his upcoming new album and his concert at the Rainbow this Saturday, September 9th

From 1999 until around 2009, Bry Webb fronted one of Canada's most celebrated rock bands, The Constantines. In 2011 and 2014 he released two acclaimed solo albums that feature a quieter side of Bry Webb. He released a live album in 2015 and hasn't done much musically since then, but he has a brand new album coming in mid-November and released a new single Thunder Bay on Sept. 6th and we start the show with that song today. Bry joins us on the Guest List today to talk about that new album and his upcoming concert at The Rainbow this Saturday night, September 9th. We look back at his work with the Constantines and his solo albums, and get some insight into what is going to be featured on that new recording. This was a difficult interview for Bry, as his good friend and fellow songwriter, Richard Laviolette died earlier this week at the age of 41 from Huntington's Disease. At the end of the interview, Bry shares with us what was special about his friend and his songs, and why he thinks we should all listen to the music of Richard Laviolette. At Bry's request, we feature one of Richard's songs at the end of the interview.
