An interview with Steve Tibbetts about his career-spanning collection Hellbound Train

Steve Tibbetts is an amazing guitarist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since the early 1980s, Steve has worked with percussionist Marc Anderson to create an incredible body of work. The music includes elements of rock, jazz, ambient, experimental, and world music and it all comes together in a sound that is sometimes exhilarating and at other times it is gentle and cerebral. Since 1980, he has released 9 albums on ECM Records and this month he has released a 2-disc compilation of 28 musical pieces that span his lengthy career with ECM. The compilation is a great introduction to Steve's music for new fans, and it serves as an in-depth overview of his recordings for those who are long-time fans. On the show today we talk to Steve about the challenges of putting together such a compilation and how important Marc Anderson has been to Steve over the years as a friend and as a co-creator of amazing music.
