On Punto de Encuentro's second Funding Drive program, we featured special guest Pierre Leblanc who is a member of Education in Action (EIA); a local group working in conjunction with Native communities in Guatemala to provide housing and education support via the commercialization of Cafe Justicia. Cafe Justicia is a project which was founded by Punto de Encuentro's own Roberto Miranda.
Pierre discussed the group's future plans to travel to Guatemala in March 2015, and of their upcoming Fall Event which will take place on the 8th of November, 2014, from 7PM-10PM at St. Gilles Presbyterian Church, located at 174 First Ave. Ottawa, Ontario.
Not only did Pierre share with us the valuable information pertaining to his work and the work of his group, but he also helped us reach our French and English listeners by sharing, in both languages, the importance of supporting CKCU during our Funding Drive so that we may stay on the air to provide our diverse programming.
To top it all off, Pierre also made a donation to CKCU, thus supporting both the station and Punto de Encuentro.
