Barclay McMillan talks about his life-changing 'Life Song' program that helped numerous people tell their story and find their authentic voice over the years.
Barclay McMillan (1932-2019) was born in Belfast and moved to Canada with his family when he was in his teens. His 30-year experience with a technique called 'toning' combined with the influence of 'voice movement therapy' pioneer Paul Newham to set him on a path of exploration. That path eventually created positive results for hundreds of people who participated in Barclay's toning workshops, 'Come Sing' singing sessions and life-changing 'Life Song' courses. For anyone wanting to find their voice and sing their 'life song', Barclay's advice was to "open the vowels and let the emotion through". His work is being carried on by choral director and songwriter, Chris MacLean. Her website is chrismaclean.com.
