Celebrating 1 YEAR on CKCU! ₍₍⚞(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⚟⁾⁾

When I was first offered a spot to host my own show here at CKCU, I kept going back and forth between different names. I knew that I wanted to play my favourite types of music that I didn't always get to hear on the station, but I had trouble thinking of a word to describe it. Finally, that word came to me once I realized something. Whenever I listen to my favourite music, I often get lost in my own thoughts and tune out the world, and the types of music I listened to also had a bit of a dreamy quality to them. "Daydream" was the best way to combine both of those ideas. There is no one specific type of music that can be "daydreamy" - it came from a vast number of genres and artists I've discovered this past year. Most importantly, they were songs that I felt should be shared more with others, to give them that same feeling that I experience when listening to my music ‧₊˚♪ 𝄞₊˚⊹ Anyhow, I can't believe that one year has passed since "Daydream Frequencies" first went on air! Today's broadcast not only celebrates the past year we've had on CKCU, but features songs from all of my past featured guest artists that have made an appearance. I am incredibly grateful to each of them for sharing their music and stories with me, and I am extremely happy to have given them the opportunity to play their music on our station (with some even making their on air debut!). THANK YOU to all my listeners for tuning in to the show whenever you could. Whether you would listen live every week, catch the on-demand recordings, or even tune in for a few minutes in between your day, I truly appreciate you supporting a newer radio DJ and community radio.
