Anumalei is a glitch artist from the Philippines and Vietnam, currently getting their footing in the Ottawa music scene. I saw Anumalei play at the Art House open mic and instantly gravitated to their haunting yet revelatory performance. They string together news clips, kids toy sounds, poems, vocal effects and noise to bring attention to world issues such as our ongoing climate crisis. For this episode, I recorded a live set Anumalei played in my basement -- as underground as it gets!!
