Notes from Underground #15: A Tribute to The Band

A fortnight past, one listener informed me of the passing of Garth Hudson on January 21st, 2025, who was the last remaining member of the band. And I realized I hadn't explored much of their music! So in the last two weeks I took a dive into their discography, and stitched together a tribute to the legacy of The Band. Songs are taken from across their career, from their 1968 debut Music from Big Pink, to 1976's The Last Waltz—the latter of which was filmed by Martin Scorsese and became a documentary of the same name. Hey Neil! As promised last time. Thanks for the inspiration! Just don't tell anyone I'm so patriotic, it'll ruin my punk credibility 🍁
