Good luck with the show. I wanted to go to this event, but I can't get off my road. My driveway and walkways are all shovelled but no plows here and unlikely to see one today. Our short 5 house cul de sac is always last on their list. Years ago (befor I arrived) the house owners had to go to court against the municipality when they claimed it was a private road. They "Fought The Law.....(and that time)......The Law DID NOT WIN"

Thanks all for listening. The Youtube stream just went live. Due to weather, we had to cancel the public part of the show, so we are just broadcasting from the CKCU studio.

THANK YOU FOR THIS ALL INVOLVED! Interesting, and important to "get the word out". And for braving the weather to get to studio to make it happen. COMMUNITY RADIO IS IMPORTANT

Hearing Duncan speaking about the James Bay Cree, reminded me firstly of the films by Boyce Richardson, and then relatedly to the 'Future of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Broadcasting' that culminated in a national gathering in Ottawa in 2017. Videos from the gathering are archived here, with talks from a wide variety of Indigenous radio (and other media) people: https://archive.org/details/FutureFNIMBroadcasting And one of the participants there I spoke with, was Cree from up near James Bay and spoke very highly of Richardson's film "Job's Garden." I still haven't been able to find that one to watch, but another one he did was the "Cree Hunters of Mistassini" which is here: https://archive.org/details/creehuntersofmistassini (Boyce lived in Ottawa later in life, and I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times) Happy Radio Day!

Excellent, Ryan. Nice to hear Yanjano and Audrey Prudham involved today; thanks to Yanjano giving up her showtime today. The Duncan McCue interview was excellent, Audrey ! RADIO RULES ! Always will ! I have never been on Facebook, X, tic toc or any other "anti-social media". I am a radio man !! I am no slave. I live in the real world, not on my phone. I have voice and text; no internet or apps.. Radio is real people talking real issues and sharing music and ideas. It's all I need ! So I am wishing everyone out there a fascinating and informative World Radio Day. Let's celebrate the greatest medium ever created for everyone and it's free. Community radio rocks, always has, always will. And thank you to everyone who volunteers their time, talent and commitment day after day, year after year, to share with us all, their passion for music and ideas.
