Bend Sinister picks Paradise Theater by Styx
Chicago’s Styx kinda formed in the 1960s, but ultimately settled on their name and line up around 1972 with their debut album Styx. In 74 & 75 the song Lady from their second album got national radio airplay…garnered many to call singer Dennis DeYoung the father of the power ballad. By the mid-70s they were gaining predominance in the new AOR (Album Oriented Rock) market.
