Indigenous Rights Radio - Indigenous Health, Food, Medicine... I. Indigenous Women's Health (12:48) Indigenous women represent one of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations in the world. For centuries, Indigenous Women have been subjected to relentless discrimination and different types of violence based on gender, indigeneity, and class. They are deprived from even basic human rights such as access to health services, education and employment. This Indigenous Rights Radio program depicts Indigenous Women and access to quality health services. II. Indigenous Food As Medicine (5:14) Dr. Daphne Miller from the University of California tells us that Indigenous Peoples who eat the diets of their ancestors are immune to many chronic diseases. Indigenous diets are also suited to local environments: farmers farm in a cycle, use different kinds of seeds, conserve water, engaging practices that are not only sustainable and organic but also regenerative. This includes the climate crisis which is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. The climate crisis is also a health crisis. In this program, we hear from Nailejileji Tipap who will tell us about the health of The Maasai people of Tanzania.
