Episode 51 was guest produced by Dr. Hali Santamas, an artist and senior researcher at the University of Huddersfield. in it, Dr. Santamas shares with us his own relationship with place, exploring some of his many experiences in both the UK and here in Canada. While doing so, we’re offered the opportunity to listen to some of Dr. Santamas’s sound compositions, all of which are created using field recordings captured in the spaces described.
The episode is expertly crafted and shares intimate details about Dr. Santamas and his place-based identity. It offers a detailed look into “ephemeral futures”, which is part of a broader project on queer futurity through sound and image titled “ecstatic utopias”.
