Hi 'ya Mike. Checking out today's show and you know, I have never heard this Sam Cooke song. Gave it an advance listen and I like it. Not his usual fare, but Sam could do no wrong. Looking forward to a gusty show later today.

Thanks Neil. I have a memory of Robert Goulet singing They Call the Wind Mariah on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was a kid. It's from the Broadway musical, Paint Your Wagon.

Wow! You know I think I might have seen that as well. I watched Ed Sullivan every week with my Dad. Saw Robert Goulet more times than I can count. He was a regular. I was introduced to many wonderful musical artists from his and the previous generation that became favourites of mine to this day. I believe that I saw Ellla Fitzgerald on his show for my very first time, for instance. I think you and I are just about the same age. I will be 73 in 8 days. Always thought I should have been born one generation earlier due to my love of the music from that era.

Happy Birthday in advance, Neil. You're a bit older than me. I'll be 71 in April.

Just looking down the playlist again and..........Boom!....I had forgotten to track down a copy of Cowboy Mambo after hearing another track on another CKCU show a while back. Fell in love with the entire sound and concept immediately. Thanks for the nudge, mon ami !! Wink

I never tell anyone my age, Mike. I usually just say "you will have to cut my leg off and count the rings". But we are clearly kindred spirits. with similar tastes since I love everything you curate for both of your shows.

Sam could sing the phone book and still memorize me and touch my heart.

Thanks for playing this wintry Bruce Cockburn. I was just thinking how we are not really hearing him played much.

Actually Jane........I've been hearing Bruce on quite a few of CKCU shows this past year; that being said, we can hear him often enough. Canadian royalty. Did he get the Order of Canada yet? I am not sure.
